Tonight something happened that affected my life in such a strong way. I haven't blogged in awhile but I felt like this was necessary to share for my family especially.
I work at a bar here is Paris as many of you know back home and on Saturday an old man came in who was so pleasant and calm. He introduced himself as Barton told me he was Irish and when I told him where I was from he said he went to school at Harvard and his daughter was living in Chicago. He struck a cord with how pleasant he was.
Fast forward to tonight...
I was in doing the quiz with friends and work and he came back in. He offered me a drink but I had already had one so he paid for his and told Irene my next one was on him. So when I got my next I sat down to talk to him. He told me his wife had died 10 years ago but that they had an apartment here as well as a place back home but that Paris was a lonely city to visit alone.
He then asked me about my life endeavors just short and sweet questions and then gave me some advice that changed me. He told me I was very pretty but that I could lose a few pounds but I still did not have much to worry about because I was very pretty. He told me that there were beautiful gardens and that if at the least 3 times a week I went to run around there I'd be fine. He then told me that while it's fun to get rapped up in living here and work in bars it's best to never get too comfortable and that I should be out there meeting amazing people like I was meant too.
While to most people this wouldn't mean anything and it might be offensive to me... I felt like it was my grandpas way of sending me a little message. I know my family will agree that these are all Ron JaskolskIisms and I know everyone will take comfort in hearing message received. I miss you all very much.
Love always,
Chelsea
